Recipe: Homemade Wonton Soup

FRESH WONTON PASTRY

Ingredients:
- 1 pack of Winner wonton pastry
- 250g ground pork or chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups bok choy, chopped
- Additional green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Wonton Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork or chicken, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2. Assemble the Wontons:
- Lay out the Winner wonton pastry sheets on a clean, flat surface.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling mixture in the centre of each wonton wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger.
- Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
- Bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and press to seal, forming the classic wonton shape. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.

3. Cook the Wontons:
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth and water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Carefully drop the wontons into the boiling broth, one at a time, ensuring they don't stick together.
- Cook the wontons for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.

4. Add Bok Choy:
- Once the wontons are cooked, add the chopped bok choy to the pot.
- Allow the bok choy to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until it's tender but still vibrant green.

5. Serve:
- Ladle the hot soup into serving bowls, making sure to include a generous portion of wontons and bok choy in each bowl.
- Garnish with additional chopped green onions, if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious homemade wonton soup!

Note: Feel free to customise your wonton soup by adding other ingredients such as sliced mushrooms, wonton noodles, tofu, or shrimp to the broth for added flavour and texture. Adjust seasoning according to your taste preferences.
