SOY SAUCE

Soy sauce is a fermented condiment made from soybeans, wheat, salt, and water. It is one of the oldest condiments in the world, with a history dating back to the 2nd century BC in China. Soy sauce is a key ingredient in many Asian dishes, including sushi, stir-fries, and marinades, it is also used as a dipping sauce and as a seasoning for other dishes. Soy sauce is rich in umami flavour, which is a savoury taste that is not found in other condiments.
Traditional soy sauce is made with a combination of soybeans, wheat, salt, and water, the soybeans and wheat are mixed together and allowed to ferment for several months. The fermentation process produces a dark, salty liquid that is then filtered and bottled.
